Roper's Take on:

Healthcare

Lowering the Cost of Healthcare and Prescription Drugs

The cost of healthcare and prescription drugs has become unaffordable for far too many Valley families. No one should have to choose between paying for medication and paying their bills. We need to lower the cost of prescription drugs, increase transparency in pricing, and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for price increases that put profits ahead of patients. Healthcare should be affordable and accessible for every family.

Expanding Access to Care in the Valley

Many communities in the Valley face physician shortages and limited access to hospitals and specialists. Families should not have to drive hours to receive basic care. We need to invest in rural hospitals, expand access to medical professionals, and ensure every community has reliable healthcare services. Strengthening our local healthcare system ensures families can receive care when and where they need it.

Holding Insurance and Healthcare Corporations Accountable

Healthcare decisions should be made by doctors and patients, not insurance companies focused on profits. Corporate consolidation in the healthcare industry has reduced competition, increased costs, and limited provider choices for families. We need stronger oversight and accountability to prevent price gouging, protect patients' access to care, and ensure the healthcare system serves the people, not corporate interests.
